The Heart of Shabbat
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See,darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord risesupon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light and kings tothe brightness of your dawn.” – Isaiah 60:1Friends – We are called to shine the light of Yeshua among all nations. There issomething noticeably different about Bible believers and disciples of Yeshua Messiah. The joy of the Lord and the light of God shines brightly in them. YOU, my friend, havebeen lit up – arise, shine for your light has come!Darkness shall cover the earth…the world is a wild place and darkness surrounds us.But bringing the nations into the light is an ongoing work of the King. It can happenthrough even the smallest of divine appointments. It’s as simple as a word ofencouragement spoken here and there.Recently during an Uber ride home from the airport, I learned that my driver was fromBrazil, speaking mostly Portuguese. I looked up “Worship Hillsong Portuguese” on myphone and played the music from the back seat. The car was immediately filled with thepresence of the Lord. He asked permission to plug my phone into his sound system sothe music would be louder. We may not have spoken the same language, but weworshipped together. The heart of Shabbat is to meet with Him. Take the time to welcome God into yourmidst, hosting His presence, and be with Him. When you do, nations will come to yourlight.
