As Long as we are Giving Thanks…thank the Jewish Messiah!

The American season of Thanksgiving is upon us. Many believe that the early European arrivals were aware of the Hebrew calendar and the feast cycles of the Lord as laid out in the Torah, especially in Leviticus chapter 23. The indigenous “Americans”, those host people who were placed here by God are said to have helped the Europeans survive the harsh winter.  The natives of this land joined them in a harvest celebration bearing the marks of Succoth, our Feast of Tabernacles. Succoth has the autumn feel of gratitude for sufficient rain and bounteous crops brought in, along with prayer for God to continue his blessing through the approaching season. There was mutuality between those fleeing oppression and those welcoming them. The natives, by revelation, had an intuitive understanding that these strangers had come with an inspired message that they had been awaiting. Many of my Native friends today, Pastors and leaders, have told me that their various tribes had generations of dreams and prophetic yearnings for the Creator to reveal Himself in a new way. They were awaiting the scrolls, which spoke of Him…many were grateful to hear the word.Every day is a good day to be grateful, especially for those of us who have been called out by the King, the Messiah Yeshua. We are able to ‘tabernacle’ with Him  - Emmanuel, God with us, thanks to His largesse in substitutionary death. When God called Abram, he instituted a promise of blessing to the whole world. Genesis 12:1-3 reminds us that Abraham’s seed through the line of Isaac, all the nations of the world would be blessed. This has multiple meanings. The most obvious is that the Messiah would come from Isaac – and offer salvation and eternal life to those outside the covenants of Israel (1 Cor 12:2, Eph 2:12).But God is SO generous, that He did not stop at the blessing of eternal life! He gave intelligence and inventiveness and industry to His people. The Jewish people, those descended directly from Abraham through Isaac have been a blessing beyond proportion relative to how few their people. Demographics pale as we look at the incredible contribution that the sons of Abraham have contributed to benefit mankind.“We owe to the Jews," wrote Winston Churchill in 1920, "a system of ethics which, even if it were entirely separated from the supernatural, would be incomparably the most precious possession of mankind, worth in fact the fruits of all wisdom and learning put together. The Jewish contribution to finance, science, the arts, academia, commerce and industry, literature, philanthropy, and politics has been astonishing relative to their tiny numbers.”Although we make up less than half of one percent of the world population, between 1901 and 1950 Jews won 14% of all the Nobel Prizes awarded for Literature and Science, and between 1951 and 2000 Jews won 32%
of the Nobel Prizes for Medicine, 32% for Physics, 39% for Economics and 29%
for Science.These are awards for real accomplishments, not the Alice in U.N. Wonderland type where murdering terrorists win “peace” prizes and genocidal dictators serve on “human rights commissions”.This contribution was made despite so many of our greatest intellects dying in the gas chambers of Nazi Europe.
